No 'exodus' from private schools

Despite all the squealing and hand-wringing from the over-privileged, its now obvious that introducing VAT on private school fees has not resulted in thousands leaving private schools or in any consequential shortage of state school places.

Now we just need to remove Charitable Status from blatantly only-for-profit schools that are just using it as a PR enhancing tax-dodge

I am unsurprised. I notice that the right wing media don't object to professional posho Alexander Armstrong moaning about VAT on school fees, but if Gary Lineker expresses a political view all Hell breaks loose.

Parents who have been able to afford above-inflation fees for 30 years are able to afford VAT, who would have thought? 🤦*♀️
