question about changing course (undergrad) at ucl

hi guys, i have a problem right now - i've currently firmed an offer for human neuroscience bsc at ucl, but now i'm kinda regretting my decision. i might have lost interest in the course and am looking to switch to another course but it is a whole different department. i know the deadline for applications are over and i've emailed admissions - they've replied and said it is not possible to switch or reapply for this year. though if the course is up on clearing i might just go for that option.

has anyone successfully changed courses to an entirely different department at the start of the year - if so, how does the process look like? thanks

UCL is a top uni so its unlikely they will have places in clearing in August. Suggest you drop out, take your A levels and then apply next year.

May I ask what’s your predicted grades and when you have applied? I’ve also applied to this course and I haven’t heard anything back from them 😭😭😭tysm !

That's really helpful to know about UCL and clearing. Taking a gap year to reapply sounds like a smart option. Appreciate the advice

Definitely worth taking a year out to get the course you really want.
Work your socks off to get the highest grades you can, and reapply.
