I have recieved offers from both NTU and UAL wimbeldon for Costume Design and I am currently unsure which one to choose. I am aware UAL has the better prestige and connections but I am concerned about the workload and university atmosphere. Any Thoughts / Opinions would be appreciated!
Rest assured that you still have plenty of time to make your decision. If you've received a reply from all of your choices, you'll have until the 5th of June to make your firm and insurance choices. If you get the chance, I'd recommend using this time to attend any upcoming open days and events at the universities you're considering. Our next open event at NTU is on the 26th of April, and we have a series of Campus Tours throughout the year as well. These can be a great opportunity to get a feel for our campus, as well as chat with our course staff and current students, as well as explore Nottingham during your visit!
In terms of this course, we're proud to be accredited by the Chartered Society of Designers, and some of our students have gone on to work with Angels Costumiers and the BBC, and freelance or in-house costume designing, making and assisting with a myriad of stage and screen companies, events and performances both large-scale and small-scale. Our students have also had the opportunity to work on live briefs with Curve Theatre, Leicester as well as working at Lichfield Garrick Theatre on Cinderella and with Bruce Asbestos and Nottingham Contemporary on live art catwalk, and engage in Co-Lab projects with other students from different subject specialisms.
I hope this helps, if you have any questions please feel free to let us know!
