UCAT Cutoff

For unis that only use UCAT to shortlist for interviews like Imperial, does achieving the cutoff UCAT and the minimum requirements for other things like predicteds guarantee an interview

No. Achieving them would give you a chance at interview, but if there were 500 applicants with higher grades and ucat than you but they only gave out 400 interviews (irl there are more applicants and interviews, just an example), they would pick the best 400 and reject the rest.
This is not to say you won't get an offer, just the higher ucat and grades, the better.

I don’t think you read their question

Yes, I did, and I answered it just fine. Once they have the predicted grades, like everyone, they will have to get a ucat high enough above everyone else for an interview. It doesn't matter if it is above the cut-off, just if it is high in comparison to the other applicants.

the answer would be yes. They asked if they had achieved the minimum grades and got a ucat score above the threshold, would they get an interview? The answer is yes after that it's solely on the interview.

The ucat cutoff is the lowest score they'd accept, including the contextual applicants. They will consider you for interview if you are above that and have the grades, but nothing guarantees you an interview.

girl that is not what they meant. I don't think they meant contextual applicants.

yeah, if you get a ucat score above a threshold, you get an interview. This is how it works at Southampton, imperial, UCL, Bristol etc. Anything above that they don't care and they don't care if you have higher grades.

Yes, but imagine you have an absolutely rubbish personal statement, saying you'd hate to be a doctor etc. you wouldn't get an interview with a ucat higher than the cut-off

you actually do 😭. Bristol don’t look at personal statements AT ALL and nor does imperial (pre interview anyways).

Trust me, it’s a threshold.

Look as silly as it sounds, they actually don’t care any further than that (before the interview).

Ucat threshold unis are nothing or everything.

So these thresholds, if achieved, guarantee you an interview 100% and there is nothing at all that could even bring it down to 99%? Nothing?
