Yeah that’s weird. I know they said that they make a range of offers but not sure what the reasoning behind it is. What are your other stats?

I didn't get all 9's GCSEs, but I did repeat year 12.

Oh. Maybe that’s why? Still seems weird though. Have you heard of anyone else being offer 3A*s?

No, I only heard some people got A*A*A for the offer for only Physics.

I applied for straight Physics and got an offer for 7 7 7 in maths physics chemistry for IB HL, which is roughly equivalent to 3 A*. I didn’t do amazingly in the entrance test, maybe that could be a factor?

Congrats! yeah entrance test is a good point. Did other ib applicants get lower offers?

My fellow IB students who applied for Physics were all rejected :frown:
The website lists the entry requirements as 776 just like it lists them as A*A*A, so I guess 777 is a bit higher than normal.
My ESAT average was 4.7

Ah ok that’s interesting. My ESAT was 5.1 and my offer is A*A*A.

Oh you as well? I didn't do amazing for one of the modules and that was Physics. My maths 1 and 2 were slightly above average.

Do you think they wil allow A*A*A?

I'm really not sure. I had a friend who needed a 6 in maths for his offer for physics at UCL, he got a 5 but after calling them was given a place anyway. Imperial might well be stricter... Safest bet is to work bloody hard to get the 3 A*. Good luck!

I think it depends which subjects and how far you are from the A* tbh. I know quite a few people who missed it by a couple of marks at LSE and Imperial but still got in. Congrats tho, I also have an offer for Physics w Theoretical Physics
