Social work student struggling to get a placement
My uni is finding it difficult to get me another placement. I was due to start a retake of my final placement this Jan but the Uni is struggling due to my 1st failed attempt.
Even worse in my opinion is the report my last practice educator wrote about my performance. She did not allow a single mistake or room for learning without reporting it as either unprofessional or a serious concern. She was short of writing me off to be honest and even commended me for not quitting sooner. Everything was documented on my placement records! In my opinion, this is affecting my ability to secure another placement.
It's now March and I worry that I may miss the summer graduation which would be the 2nd miss. This is getting me down.
I want to contact the placement coordinator to discuss my prospects but they had previously advised me not to reach them as they would get in touch as soon as a placement opportunity opens up.
Can you kindly advise how to approach this? Thanks
