Deciding on Biology vs Biomedical Engineering

Hello, I’m having trouble deciding which offer I should accept.
I got an offer to study biology at St Andrew’s and another to study biomedical engineering at Glasgow.
I’d appreciate any insight, whether about the degrees or the universities themselves.
Thanks

i did biology at st andrews. loved my time there and wouldn't have wanted to live anywhere else... i'd be tempted to choose biomedical engineering but tbh the main thing is work experience (not in a lab) with regards to job prospects, so just decide if you want breadth or specialism in your degree

Thanks for the reply! What exactly about St Andrews made you love it so much? A lot of my peers (pupils and teachers) have warned me against it due to it being very posh (snobby) and told me that I might feel some friction as someone not from that kind of background - is that a real issue or has it been overstated in your opinion?

In terms of degree, I think it is important to understand what sort of career you would like to pursue in the future. Personally, I would be keen on Biomedical Engineering since it would potentially open doors to getting a job in medical device industry.
