A level Physics advice

Hi I am in year 13. I am so confused and I really need advice. I just did my mocks and I did really bad. For my mocks I revised by doing all of the old spec questions on PMT for all of the topics, and I made notes on all the questions that I got wrong, and I made sure to understand everything. I didn't do any new spec papers yet as I thought I would attempt them all for month. But after my results I am not so sure they will make any difference, I would like to get an A but I don't know what I should do now. Please any one who could tell me what I should do next. Thanks

Have you gone through your mock papers to work out where/why you lost marks? Were there topics you simply hadn't revised, because they weren't in the old spec but were in the new? Or were they topics you had revised, but you still couldn't answer the question? Or did you lose marks because you have the correct answer but the mark scheme was very pedantic about the exact terminology they wanted to see? Unless you know why you didn't do as well as you'd hoped, you're going to struggle to improve.

Hi, thank you for answering, well when I went through it, it was not the case of I did not understand, I did understand the answers that were meant to be but only when it was told to me, but just that I did not know I had to say that in that wording or I had to mention it at all, so will doing the new spec papers fix my problem or is it something else I should do, thank you.

Simply doing papers won't really help, to be honest. You gain more knowledge by carefully checking your papers (which you still have to do!) against the mark scheme, and understanding exactly what sort of things they need you to say in a given scenario. This is really what you're saying above by "I did not know I had to say that in that wording or I had to mention it at all". And yes, do the new spec papers - as that's the spec the actual papers will use.
