Hi there, for to received the London rate a student must be studying at an institution in the City of London and former Metropolitan Police District, and the university's postcode must fall under this catchment area to be eligible. If not, the Elsewhere rate will be applied. Thanks, Stephen.

But the uni is within the Met Police. I dont understand how a uni withinin Greater London, within the Met Police, within a London Borough and whos staff who get "London weighting" in their salary but yet SFE say its not within London. Also, the "City of London" is a square mile with no Universities are in so your information appears to be incorrect. The main geographical area covered by the Met, the Metropolitan Police District, consists of the 32 London boroughs, and excludes the square mile of the City of London a largely non-residential and financial district, overseen by the City of London Police.

Hi there, your university's postcode does not fall under any of the catchment area for to be awarded the London rate. Thanks, Stephen.

Hi there,

We don't have a list of these. The university you're going to and put on your application is checked when you submit the application. It needs to come under the former Metropolitan Police District to be classed as the London rate.

Thanks,
Claire
