Music Performance or Music Tech

The Post 16 centre that I currently plan on going to in September doesn't do Music Tech but does do Music Performance Voc.
I have recently found a college that does Music Tech and the 3 other subjects I want to do but its an hour bus away (which I suppose I'm willing to do)
I do prefer Music Technology overall but I'm not sure if the 2 hour round trip is worth it or even how different the two are.

Any input would be great, I don't really know what to do.

Hi there,

I studied Music Tech BTEC and greatly enjoyed it, and it helped lead into a career in live sound and events. The bulk of what I learnt regarding mixing, lighting, and system setup came through shadowing engineers/ events in person, reading/ watching as much as I could on the internet, and most importantly, trying things myself. Record your friends bands, offer to shadow local event companies, write and mix your tracks and upload them wherever you can. You can still grow as an artist/ producer without formally studying music, so don't feel that you have to go down the obvious route to get to where you want to be.

Thanks, and hope this insight helps!
