It's not really clear what question you're asking. Are you asking what internet service provider most students use? If so, then university students will most likely use whatever their university provides. From what I've seen, EduRoam seems to be a significant player in that market.

Eduroam isn't an internet provider. Stricly speaking, it's a federated authentication system that allow you to connect to a wired or wireless service. In practice you're usually connecting to a wireless service offered by your university. It has the advantage that it allows you to connect at most universities in the UK and at many abroad without having to change anything in your setup.

Eduroam isn't an internet provider in the way that BT, Virgin Media, etc are.
