do i pay extra for foundation 18+?

I just turned 20 and I will be starting a foundation course at UWE this September for business and management. I was just told that I would have to pay £5000 upfront because I’m over 18? I’m very confused.

Is the £5,000 a non-refundable deposit mean to be part of the tuition fee? Usually there is no different fee schemes for students of different ages. Non-refundable deposits are quite common.

Is it a stand-alone foundation course or is a foundation year to a degree course? Are you a home or international student?

Can you post a link to the course?

They're not for UK students.

You need to check that the uni has the right fee status for you. If you're a home student, you shouldn't be required to pay a deposit especially if you are going to fund your course through student finance. If you are self-funding, then a deposit might be required. Ask for a copy of the uni's fee conditions.
