Student Finance Help

Hi. I applied for my student finance today, for a maintenance loan and higher maintenance loan as I should be eligible for the full £13,000. But then after I sent in my application I saw this at the bottom?

To change your application to be based on your household income you need to complete the NMT to MT form. You can find this form by clicking on the ‘Change your application’ link below, followed by ‘Apply for a Maintenance Loan’.

My parents haven’t yet provided their evidence that they’ve been asked for so do I need to do anything with this or do I not need to worry??? I already checked my application overview and it says I’ve applied for both maintenance loans and my tuition fee loan. Pls help, I’m stressing!

Hi there,

Did the application ask you for your parents details i.e. name and email address etc?

Thanks,
Claire

Hi, thanks for the response. Yeah, my parents were sent questions to answer and they have now sent these questions off. The email said, among other things, “The reason we're contacting you is because [my name] wants their student finance to be assessed based on your financial details. With your financial details [my name] may be able to get additional student finance to help with their living costs..”
So do I not need to fill in the form or do I still need to?

Based on what you have advised it sounds like we just didn't yet assess your parents details, as they hadn't provided it yet. If they have sent this recently, it's currently taking 5 working days to process. Our timescales are estimates and can change daily up or down depending on how busy we are. If the team need anything else they will email you, it may go to your junk folder.

Once updated and approved, this will reflect online and then you will receive paperwork in the post.

Thanks,
Claire
