Hi I need some advice
Year 10 mocks my results were (btw i take igcse pearosn edexcel for everything apart form english lit)
English Lit: 8
English Lang: 7
Maths: 6
History: 4
Combined science: 55
Geography: 6
Art: 3

my Most recent mocks I got
English Lit: 6
English Lang: 9
Maths: paper1 - 7 paper2 - 8
History:6
Combined Science:77
Geography: 7
Art: 4

I want
English Lit: 8
English Lang: 9
Maths: 9
History: 9
Combined Science: 88
Geography: 9
Art: 7

How realistic is this and how do i do it?
I have tutors but i dont know what else I can do- how possible is it?

I want to take Maths, History, Politics, Economics for A levels and i dont know how to rbing my history to a 9
Is it stupid to take History A level? I really want a 9 becuase I love the subject however I am so conflicted- I do apst papers and structure and stuff like that but idk where I can find online reivision material and liek quizzes and stuff apart from youtube vids

Art i am good and I know how to create really high work and sketchbook slides (mine is online) however becuase I have been revising and focusing on other subjects I am insanely behind. My old portfolio (worht 60 percent) is unfinished and it is like a grade 3 or 4 level and i ahvent had the time to finish my final peice as it will take me like 5 hours!
My current sketchbook is at a 7/8 but I am already icnredibkly behind due to a lot of wokr in other subejcts and lack of motivation and procrastiantion aprtly due to my ADHD

Please if you have adivce on any subjects and you can give me a reality check and any other info- it would be so helpfull the more the detail the better
Am I cooked if I want an A star in maths at A Level?

Am I cooked if I want an A star in maths at A Level?

These mock results aren't too shabby at all, but here's what I would do:
Maths:
I'm also on an 8 and want a 9, and what's stopping me from doing that is the last 4/5 markers towards the end of the paper. I would just do as many past papers as humanly possible, or topic tests from mathsgenie. Just focus on your weaknesses (if you don't know what they are, do a past paper or two and track each question, its subject and your mark on a spreadsheet and colour code it to see which sections you struggle with).
For history:
I would recommend using Seneca, it contains all you need to know about the course.
Also, a flashcard app like Anki may help, but I wouldn't recommend it this close to the exam as it takes time to make cards (although look into it for A-Levels)

Your grades are achievable if you work hard to get them.

Hi, I’m an A Level student, studying Maths, Biology Chemistry. In my GCSE history I self-studied it due to reasons and got a grade 8. In my GCSE maths at the end of year 10 I was still in foundation set getting around a grade 5, but was able to bring that grade up to an 8 by year 11 exams.

So here are my advice:

History:
. Would really recommend past papers and writing draft essays.
. Hodder textbooks are quite good for history and offer lots of source evaluation practice.
. Seneca I found very good for history practice as it is engaging and has active recall quizzes.
. BBC Bitesize/BBC Teach have some good videos at GCSE level.
. I made and downloaded knowledge organizers.

Maths:
Just a note that Maths A Level requires somewhat different skills to gcse maths- it is more exam technique practice you need for A Level. I am finding some aspects of A Level maths tricky despite doing decently well at GCSE. I suppose it totally depends. Do any ‘bridge the gap’ activities offered by your sixth form during y11 summer.

I would recommend:
. The GCSE Maths Tutor, particularly his grade 9 videos
. Corbett Maths 5 a day , try the higher difficulty ones
. My maths cloud has target grade 9 style papers, which focus on the end of paper questions

Hope this helps!

Hi do u think i should make notes now, or just start doing past papers and exam questions?

depends.
dont know the content?
make notes
want to practice?
do past papers

with past papers, you can also identify your weaknesses and practice those specifically, highlighting where you need to make notes.

my advice for past papers is to mark them and track each question like this:

question 1:
topic: gobbledygook
mark: 1/3

question 2:
topic: blahblah
mark: 3/3

there, you can see you may need more revision notes on topic gobbledygook than blahblah.
