About termination

HHey there!
So, my brother arrived in the UK last September. I'm currently living in London while he's studying in Middlesborough. Unfortunately, he fell ill after his journey and was struggling with back pain. His attendance at university was a bit inconsistent due to his health issues, but we did provide a doctor's note as proof of his sickness.
In February, my brother had a meeting with the university where they warned him about his attendance. Since then, he has been attending all his classes without fail. However, the university recently informed him that his attendance was below the required 85% and terminated his enrollment. This came as a surprise to us since they never mentioned this issue before.
I'm reaching out for advice on what steps we should take next. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Have him contact his Students' Union. They will know the processes and procedures at his university and will be able to both advise him and advocate for him with the university.

The Students' Union possesses knowledge about this process so he should start by contacting them for assistance. It is essential for him to obtain medical documentation to back up his absence requests. He should consider filing an appeal to the decision if a resolution takes too long to materialize.
