Neuroscience

Ok so, vet school reject here.
I have an offer to do neuroscience, and was wondering what I could do with that? I still want to contribute to animal health in some way, and I don't want to test on animals, which I know is a big part of neuroscience research.
Is it possible to do neuroscience research without animal testing?

Any possible reason for the reject. What was your gcse and a level grades?

I'm just bad at interviews. I have 9s at GCSE and on track for 4 A*s at a level. I just have no social skills!

Good evening,

Neuroscience will be much more human-focused; however, have you ever thought about BSc Zoology or BSc Ecology and Wildlife Conservation? As these degrees are more environmentally based and animal-focused, most students go into animal-related roles or fieldwork roles, such as land surveyors.

These degrees may be more what you are looking for and will have a better focus on animals.

As the UCAS deadline has ended, you may be able to join one of these courses by Applying through Clearing. Clearing is explained on the webpage to show you the process. Alternatively, you could take a gap year and reapply in September, as this will allow you to choose five new options, give you time to work, and ensure you really want to do the degree you choose.

If you have any questions, please let us know.

All the best,
Ella
BSc Ecology.
