Problems with getting a sighn off
I'm a PA student on hospital placement. During my Surgical placement, I was in surgery with my supervisor and at the start he was normal, he was doing some teaching then like 20 mins in he just switched an became and ********. He said to me can you put on gloves and help and I didn't hear what he said and I said "sorry" and he just goes can you put your note book down, because I missed what he said I was thinking the other surgeons didn't mind me taking notes said why then his Reg said he wants you to put on gloves and help. So I went and put on gloves and I asked him what should I do and It wasn't in a rude way at all and he just goes what do you want to do He even said out loud that he would have never said what should I do to a doctor and a medical student. The he wasn't giving me anything to do so I took the gloves off then he was about to give me something to do and he goes why did you take the gloves off and I said to him "but you said.." he just cuts me off and goes I the consultant apologise to the med student for trying to get her involved. Whilst the whole theatres was laughing
Then he made some **** joke about bone cells and he thought I believed him and he goes to me I'm joking. Then after that surgery there was a break and when I walked back in to the theatre he was gossiping to the anthestist and was laughing and he points straight to me and goes that's her. Then he was normal for a bit. Then he goes to me and the other student (a mid wife student who was there because she just wanted to see surgery, she was really nice) can one of you scrub in and help the reg and we both just looked at each other and he goes if none of you at to do it then don't then I just scrubbed in. Then he walked out of the theatre really ****ed off and I was thinking what did I even do, like I wasn't coming in the way I was just standing in the back really quietly. He was also a bit funny when I came toa ask him something at the end of his clinic but he won't do it on a ward round in front of the doctors who are really nice, just where he knows he can get away with it.
Basically the problem is he is my supervisor and I need to sign him off but he wont reply to give me a meeting. I've this other really nice reg to do it but she just said to find him on Wednesdays. I've emailed him twice and he won't reply to me but replied to another PA student straight away. My uni's just saying try again with the reg but I've already asked her twice. I get some doctors don't like PA's but this is just pushing it.
Like what should I do because I need to get signed off?
