What is the best accommodation for me at Exeter University?

I am looking to go to Exeter but have decided that it is time for me to start having a little fun. I am rather introverted and am used to spending time alone and not really socialising. I heard Lawfrowda is probably the best house for this. Please let me know of your experiences with Exeter houses. Thank you

Rowe House was fine back in the day. I swear Exeter used to have dedicated quiet blocks.

Hi Eng.LawWhoKnows,

I am glad to hear that you're considering Exeter! There are many accommodation options, but I'll run you through my experience.

I'm a second year student at the moment, and I am currently living on campus for medical reasons. Last year, I stayed in a Lafrowda ensuite, where this year I am in an East Park ensuite.

I'd say that no matter where you are, you can stay in your room - there is no real pressure to come out, other than to go grab some food from the kitchen. You may end up with a really sociable flat, or a rather quiet one, or maybe even a mix of both. Last year, I was fairly close with my flatmates but we never pressured ourselves to socialise. This year, we aren't as close, but we get on. It really goes to show that it doesn't matter too much where you are.

We do have dedicated quiet blocks - I have stayed in these both years. I think East Park is a bit louder than my Lafrowda block was, but it's nothing major at all.

Both accommodation options I've been in have been fairly fun, but ultimately no matter where you are, there's no real pressure to go beyond your comfort zone. If you have any disputes, our Residence Life Team is there to mediate or help with any concerns you might have.

I'd definitely come to an Open Day to view the different options, though, and see how you feel!

I hope this helps,

Hi Grace,

Thank you so much for your reply. I am looking to be less introverted at uni so was hoping for accommodation on the more social side anyway. Sorry if I didn't convey that well in the initial message. From what you have said, La Frowda and East Park are most likely my top choices.
