Radiography through clearing?

Hi! I was wondering if anyone knows how clearing works for healthcare science degrees, specifically diagnostic radiography. Is it any different to normal degrees that dont have an interview to get offers usually? or will you still have to have an interview, just after results day. Thank you!

Unis tend to avoid 'interviewing courses' going into Clearing, either by having a waiting list or by accepting more near-miss applicants. Yes, some Unis may have Clearing places, but you will still be interviewed (online or by phone) just the same as any other applicant.

Does anyone know if Uni’s will accept people in clearing who had previously been rejected after interview (was told it was a very competitive year)?

Not if you are applying to a Uni that has already rejected you - they still wont be interested in you.
Radiography is always competitive - the best plan would be to find out WHY you were rejected, fix that in a gap year, and reapply for 2026..

I did talk to someone from the University of Bradford, and they said that if theres spaces left, they will put it on clearing and you just ring them on the day and they'll do a phone interview! I'm not sure if this is the case with other universities.

Hi @heamoglobin7,

I am currently a 2nd year diagnostic radiography student at the University of Suffolk. I did not personally go through clearing but I know people that did and they did interviews over the phone on results day, I believe.

If you have any questions about the university or radiography as a course feel free to ask!
