Is uni of York boring?

Hi, I want to study at York but the only thing holding me back is the campus/student life. I am a city uni person, Manchester is my dream uni but I wasn't offered a place there.
I don't mind York as long as it's not too boring and there's barely anything to do.
I'm not really a partying/clubbing sorta person so if anyone studies at York or lives there, how would you say the campus, teaching and overall student life is?

Hi Ayes7288,
I get your concern, I moved from London a couple of years ago and was worried about the same thing.
However, I've found York is far from boring and in fact, events, locations, societies are actually easier to access because of the campus nature of the university and that the city is geographyically smaller. I'll try and arrange what I've found by location:
Campus
There is a lot going on! There are over 200 student societies, an active student union plus loads of events, concerts, open lectures etc. As you go round you'll see posters up everywhere for events and opportunities to participate in sports, research, campaigns and more
City
The campus is a short bus ride or cycle away from the city centre. The city is compact but busy, there's a huge heritage and tourist industry if that's your thing (Viking festival is very cool), people do travel from outside of York for Friday and Saturday nights out and it feels like a lively busy city. York also has it's own races and in on the circuit for plays/comedy shows.
Wider area
The North Yorkshire countryside is stunning and there are loads of outdoor activities going on (see UoY societies for outdoor groups too). We're about an hour by train to Manchester, Leeds and Newcastle and two hours to London so we're really well connected to everything happening in those cities too.
