Congrats, those are a strong set of grades. I would suggest you apply strategically to avoid Med schools that rank GCSEs too highly. For example, avoid Birmingham, Newcastle, Cardiff, etc. However, most med school just expect you to meet their minimum requirements. For example, I applied to ARU who ask for 5 grades above a 6, so anything above this doesn't set any advantage. Good luck ! 🙂

It’ll not put you at a disadvantage as long as you get good predicted grades

As above, these grades are fine for most schools, strong A-levels and a good ucat, combined with work experience and volunteering should be enough to get you an interview.

I would recommend lancaster as you would score very highly for academics (15/16) and they have a cut off at 13/16 so you should be fine. I applied to anglia ruskin and have an offer, you should be okay there too. If you want to look at russel group unis, Queen Mary's should be okay as they require 777666 but just make sure ucat score and band is good. Also, if you have an contextual factors, GCSE grades may not be considered as much depending on the uni. If you have any other unis in mind, feel free to let me know and I can look through the admission statistics for you 🙂

I got 2700 B3. AR was my strongest, followed closely by QR. I would say for QR just do loads and loads of practice, have good knowledge of conversions, as that came up a lot on my UCAT. For DM, i would say use diagrams to understand the information better. Honestly, VR was my weakest section, but if you are a fast reader, you should be fine. I would also highly recommend that you do lots of SJT practice to get a high band. I found my Band 3 stopped me from applying to a few med schools.

Depends on where you apply but some genuinely just want certain minimum grades (like a 6 in maths and E language and certain predicted grades) and then rank by UCAT. I had some lower gcse grades so I avoided unis like Kings who put more weight on your gcses.
