Pregnancy in uni

I had a miscarriage just before I started my uni course in September 2024. I am now nearly at the end of my first year i’m really wanting to try again for a second baby as I currently have a 22 month old. I am considering taking a year off and trying for a baby when I finish my first year which will mean I will be having the baby in April and due back in uni September 2026 for my second year (if all goes to plan) The issue I am having is my partner works full-time and I’m on student finance but if I took a year off I wouldn’t be getting student finance anymore which will mean we will be set back with money and struggling to live on just one wage. Is there something I can apply to while I take my year off as I can’t apply to universal credit as my partner’s wages over the threshold? Before anyone comments and says wait until the course is over I have really tried to do that but after losing a baby it makes you want one even more and waiting until the end of my course is just not an option.

Hello! There's a few maternity allowances you could apply for that could help you, you can see them on the Gov.UK website. https://www.turn2us.org.uk/get-support/information-for-your-situation/bringing-up-a-child/expecting-a-child this one could also help with just general information!
Wishing you the best!! 😊
