UCL accommodation after first year

Hi, I'll be in my third year of UCL in 2025/26 and I have a few questions someone could hopefully have some info on. I stayed in halls my first year, this year I was in a rental and due to mould and the dampness I was extremely ill for two months (had to move back home abroad and apply for extenuating circumstances). I suffer from really bad asthma and mould allergy which I fear is almost unavoidable in (affordable) private rentals in London, so would it be possible to move into halls next year?
No one I have contacted at UCL has been helpful so far and given the accommodation portal is opening soon I could do with some help!

You can, but first year students will get priority.

You can apply for accommodation and will be given same priority as first year if you have a long term health condition. They have specified health conditions on the website.

You do have a case but it is not straightforward so contact student support. Since you took an year out because of your health they might be able to recommend your case to accomodation team. If they do then you will get the accommodation. You might have to provide evidence of health condition from GP but talk to student support first.
