Special element and universal credit.

Hi, I posted a few months back regarding UC not properly working out my entitlement based on maintenance loans, including special support element. I have had it sent to a decision. Despite having evidence and confirmation from sfe, they are still refusing to acknowledge that the special support element should be disregarded as income. I have reached out to my university for assistance, theu have contacted sfe on my behalf and have asked again for a letter to be sent to me with a complete breakdown of what I'm getting, they have also located the official legislation on the government website that also states thay this portion of the loan should not be included in any calculations. Bizarrely I am still having issues! Do I leave it and raise it again later when hopefully they'll be someone different to speak with (I have noticed that I seem to talk to one person for an amount of time them it changes to another) I really don't know ow what else I can possibly do. Did your university make this request just recently? As in, have you received any new letters from us that could help with this?

Thanks for replying. So, I received a manual letter in November breaking down how much was for grant, maintenance loan and special support, they have not accepted this so my university spoke with sfe again approx 2 weeks again and said they would send me another letter which I hope will arrive soon. It's expected to take upto 14 days so hopefully within the next days I'll have it.

Thanks, yes, that sounds right - hopefully that will be acceptable because, in most case, it really should be. You can let us know if this happens again, however.
