Student Finance

Applications for Student Finance for the 2025-26 academic year are now open!

Students can receive two loans, a tuition fee loan and a maintenance loan. The amount of maintenance loan you will receive is dependent on your household income. You can find more information about how much you will be eligible for and start an application on the government website.

Every university will also offer additional financial support including scholarships and bursaries so make sure you have a look at these for the universities that you have applied for!

Hi, my mother had an account from when she supported my brothers application 6/7 years ago. A lot has changed since then e.g. my father passed away. SFE assumes my circumstances are still the same (since my brothers time) and my mum only had to answer like max 4 questions. Is there any way we can redo the whole application on my mother’s part?

You need to post your question in the Ask Student Finance England forum where official SFE/SLC reps will reply to you during normal office hours (this thread has been made by a uni student rep who won't be able to answer technical questions).
