Has anyone taken their driving test straight after work?
My driving test just got cancelled due to a driving examiner not being able in June. I’ve now been relocated a new date in July, but it’s on a Thursday and I’m in work. The time of the test is at 1:25pm but I don’t finish work till 12:30pm, what can I do?
I was thinking of calling in sick, but will have to call in sick on another Thursday earlier this year (I have a GCSE exam) and I’m on a term time contract at work and I’m not entitled to annual leave. I’m kinda stressing how this would look as I’d take two Thursdays off in the year to be “sick”. Help!

Annual leave entitlement or not it would be a pretty messed up employer that wasn't able to allow you finishing an hour or two early or moving a shift for a lesson & test given they're getting 3 months notice.
Likewise it's crazy you would have to call in sick for a GSCE exam, of course you're going to attend that. 'oh sorry you'll need to miss your exam and blow 2 years of work as we need you here for your min wage job'.. pretty much no one would accept being told that, is your employer really that hard to talk to?

I don’t think my manager is hard to talk to, I’ll try and ask him if I could leave a few hours early on my test date. And yeah, I’m studying privately in a centre and no-one knows anything about it. I intend on falling “sick” that day to take it.
