About work experience

Dear everyone,
I am seeking advice on how to obtain work experience in STEAM and engineering as a Year 12 student, preferably in Nottingham. I've noticed that many applications are already closed.
I would appreciate any ideas or suggestions you might have. Thank you!

Hey there , keep in mind that work experience is not a requirement to getting into STEM subjects in university , it is great to have but it is not a prerequisite and you can still get into university without it.
With that said I would advise you to consider unpaid volunteering opportunities and also emailing or reaching out to people on linkedIn who have job roles you want to study and ask them for an opportunity to job shadow them for a week or two. This will give you some related work experience before you head out to university .

Hi there,
getting work experience can be tough especially in the STEM sector, have you considered reaching out to companies you're interested in directly.
Sometimes a company might be amenable to running a couple weeks of work experience 4 a student who is really interested and applies to them directly with an e-mail.
