What does your week look like studying here? Like how many lectures, practicals etc? 🙂

About 40 people in my class, think the next year coming is bigger but years shouldn’t be any bigger than 60 ish for a while.
Lots of us stay in the Aberdeen uni halls, but quite a few people just privately rent or stay in other student accommodation.

Honestly it varies quite a bit depending on if we have trips to work around etc. We don’t often have days that are just lectures, usually a practical a day or at least a decent break between. Wednesdays are normally off or just a morning. Fridays are occasionally just until lunch too and normally group work for case studies. Probably around 4 practicals a week and then for lectures around 3-5 a day.

Thank you so much for responding that is really helpful. How have you found your first year, do you have any advice?

Are there many RUK students on the Vet Med course? I’m worried that if I use one of my choices for SRUC it may be wasted if not many RUK students are given offers. I love the thought of studying at SRUC, coming from a rural Welsh village and working predominantly on dairy farms.

My daughter had an interview with SRUC then was rejected. She is RUK. Scottish universities take a very limited number of RUK so I would advise only pick if you need too. Daughter was limited to where she could apply due to GCSE results.

That’s what I’m thinking now. It’s a shame that you have to strategically choose unis. I want to be a rural vet and this would have been perfect!

My daughter also wants to do rural. She has 2 offers so just make sure you read the entry requirements as some need work experience. Good luck it is a very brutal process.

Hi, is there a certain format I should follow for the letter to the head and the vocational experience summary documents?

Hi, I also wanted to ask what would you suggest one should do in order to prepare for their interviews?
Thank you!

I’ve had an invite to interview 2 weeks today! What sort of thing did they ask your daughter please?

Hi sorry I have asked and she cant really remember other than current issues within veterinary. Why she thought she wanted to be a vet etc and spoke about work experience. It was a panel interview. Good luck.

Do you know how many RUK applicants they invite to interview and how many offers from that are made? I have an interview a week Thursday.
