So there’s this guy in my class, i often catch him staring at me and on two separate occasions he has randomly smiled at me, bear in mind we have never talked. It’s happened so often it has me questioning things or am i just overthinking??

It's possible that he likes you, yes. You'll never know unless things progress beyond the "staring and smiling" stage.

It's entirely possible, but you can't know without spending more time with him and getting to know him properly.

he might be attracted to you but if you've never spoken, i doubt there's any meaningful connection to constitute "liking" on any basis that isn't physical, maybe try talking to him?

He might like you but I’m not sure I used to like this boy in my class and I would often look at him and smile because I really liked him but I never shoot my shot and eventually he thought I was death staring him and thought I wanted to kill him 😭

I think he does like you. He's seeing if you'll reciprocate his smile to know whether it's safe to eventually make a move.
