Laptop for Aerospace Engineering

Hi! I've got an iPad for notetaking and I've got a very good gaming rig which can run CAD perfectly but it's not portable. Will I have to invest in a laptop for the course or will I be just fine using my computer for CAD?

I'm going to Uni next year, so while I don't have actual experience, I'd say that's plenty, you're not really going to need to do CAD in a lecture or something right?
I've just got a laptop, and while it is quite good i havent really pushed it but its battery goes down quick and it makes a ton of noise so im a bit worried. An iPad and PC is a better balance id say.
Hope this helps

An iPad is perfect for note taking. If you need to do CAD, Matlab etc then uni have computers that are suitable for you to use. Depending on how close the uni is to your accommodation, it might be useful downloading the software onto you computer/laptop so you can do it in your room.
