Any point of doing an undergraduate for urban planning?

I’m a bit confused. For the 3 year UCL urban planning, design and management course you only get a partial accreditation meaning a masters is required for the full. However, if you have any undergrad degree and just do a masters in urban design and city planning you get the FULL accreditation. So is there any point spending 3 years for urban planning undergrad if you could get the full accreditation in less time?

Any help would be appreciated!

Chartership by the RTPI requires a Level 7 qualification (I.e. MSc). If you are sure on planning study an integrated Masters (e.g MPlan) which is cheaper and quicker than studying a bachelors and then a masters separate.

Isn’t it both 4yrs for the integrated masters and the undergrad plus the 1yr masters?

Separate Masters MSc are studied over more months than a UG course and cost more

You will get undergraduate funding for all years of an integrated masters loan i.e. both a tuition fee loan and the maintenance loan. A separate masters is funded through postgrad funding which is a fixed amount (around £12.8k) from which you have to pay your fees and support yourself. If the masters course is longer than a year, the £12.8k is split between the two years. It is woefully inadequate.
