The Student Room Group

Mill Point Manchester Accom

I'm starting a postgrad course at MMU this September and have booked a room in Mill Point, but am really worried about the mixed reviews! There are some really awful reviews about rats and other infestations, and just generally being dirty, but other reviews have nothing bad to say at all and I just wanted to hear from someone else who's lived there if its actually that bad. Its impossible to find anything about it online/ facebook and tiktok so if someone could please help me out!

Heya, I'll be going to MMU as a postgraduate student too this September!

Currently in the same position with accommodation, I've got an offer over at Grafton Street but was looking at Mill point on how convenient it is to the Picadilly Station (I'll be moving up by train). (Their ensuites definitely are more spacious too)

Happy to talk more, as I also looked at the reviews and am very unsure now haha. I'm also not sure how unsafe the area is at night, I tend to study quite late so don't want to pick an accom that is quite dodgy after certain hours to walk back to. But if anybody knows the area, would love to know!

Nice to meet you tho!

Hey!! What course are you going for?

I ended up booking a room in manchester student village instead since I also wasn’t too sure about how safe the area was, and I thought better be safe than sorry in case the reviews are true haha. My brother who lives in manchester went for a viewing for me and I wasn’t really the biggest fan so I went for MSV, it’s a bit more expensive but everywhere costs so much 💀

Hi, I'll be studying Architecture, what about you?

Haha I don't blame you, I might stick with my gut and stay with Grafton (I'll take the constant ambulance noises over the rats and constant music on the weekends).
Found there wasn't much accommodation for postgrad students which is a bit frustrating. And yes, they're all so expensive - really took my undergrad accom for granted now!
