As a student leader at the Patan Multiple Campus, I am confronting an increasing number of my peers who express dissatisfaction and face issues within the IT department. This sentiment is widespread, echoing frustration of many students who wish for change and better platform for their studies. There are ongoing issues related to labs' timing, updated computer systems, and qualified teaching staff which need immediate attention.
Discontent stems from various angles and diverse students - those pursuing bachelor's and those pursuing Master’s degrees alike. Our shared belief is that students should be facilitated with the most up-to-date knowledge and skill sets, but our expectations are not being met.
To substantiate these issues, insightful feedback sessions were organized to hear scholar's experiences. Nearly 64% of IT students reported that the computer systems used in laboratories are not up-to-date, while 70% were not satisfied with the lab's timing.
Alongside this, attention must be drawn towards the qualifications of teaching staff. These tutors must be equipped with the latest knowledge and methodologies—the University Grants Commission's (UGC) recent report reveals a concern for the lack of adequate professional development among teaching staff.
This petition aims to amplify the voice of every student of the Department of Information Technology at Patan Multiple Campus who seeks an improved educational experience. We ought to have access to modern facilities, flexible lab hours, and well-prepared teaching staff.
It is time for our concerns to be seriously addressed. Let your voices be heard. Show your support by signing the petition. Your signature is a step towards achieving change.
