Trying to decide my firm uni … any advice

I’m struggling to decide between Exeter, Cardiff and Liverpool, as which should be my firm university choice. Does anyone who is deciding or currently attending have any input or advice. I’ve been looking at rankings, been to all the open days and looked at the area and I’m stumped

Congratulations to your offers.

The unis are super close. Maybe you could look at the course modules to see which one you like most. Specialisations like medical law and sports law are not offered by every uni.

Hi Olivia!

My names Katy and im currently doing criminal law and criminal justice at LJMU and i love everything about it! We get so many opportunities such as a placement years abroad, work experience, meeting important people within the justice system and much more! Our lessons are a variety of online and in person seminars and there is always someone available to support you with anything you need 🙂 Please feel free to ask me any questions about liverpool and i can do my very best to answer them.

My general advice to you would be to think about which university made you feel the most at home as you mentioned you have been to open days and seen the area. I would also take into account how far you will be from home and whether that is something that it important to you aswell as the costs of coaches/trains to get back home for christmas or birthdays. I would also have a look at which uni has the best reputations from students and what they have to say about the uni alongside which uni has the best facilities for your course. I would also advise thinking about the type of city life and size of the city as exeter is more of a smaller city and a bit quieter with a more relaxed social life, Cardiff is a capital city but not as large as the likes of London with a lively social life and Liverpool is quite a big and vibrant city with a buzzing atmosphere and big social life as theres lots of nightclubs, pubs, cultural heritage, events that take place and much more!

Hope this helps, feel free to let me know if i can do anything else for you!

Katy,
LJMU Student Ambassador
