Durham or Edi???

Durham feels claustrophobically small but I’m worried I won’t make any friends at edi and I’ve heard student support is bad…

Uni size or student population won't stop you from making friends. Don't just sit there, go out to reach for friends.

It is certain that every uni has student support office. Try to get to details of the stories of "poor" support. Whether it is geniue, or over-request?

I would suggest that anyone join several clubs or societies to make new friends. Getting drunk and playing those stupid toga party drinking games during Freshers week in something to avoid. I don't know why universities still allow for such drivel to go on.

Hiya,

I know Durham 'feels' small and claustrophobic but I would definitely recommend coming for a visit to see what it's like, there's various open days as well as post offer visit days that you could sign onto. Just to add, uni size doesn't really have a lot to do whether you'll make friends, the way to make friends is to put yourself out there and actively meet and socialise with people even if it feels scary or challenging or even awkward. You could be in a small uni and still not make friends if you don't try 🙂

Hope this helps!
