Urdang accommodation

Does anyone have any recomendations for accommodation at urdang? The ones that city St George suggests Arbour, cross court and Romano all have really bad google reviews! Does anyone have experience with these? Can anyone suggest better options still on a budget?

Hi there!

Thank you for your question. While I know I already responded to you on the Urdang thread, I will also share the response on here for other users 😄

I have firsthand experience living at Cross Court House, and have also gathered insight from my friends staying in other accommodations. While these accommodations often receive negative google reviews, they are still great options for first-year Urdang students! From my time at Cross Court House, the staff have been very accommodating, and always willing to help with any issue. I have also read some of the google reviews, so I will provide some of my feedback in response to them. The building offers good service and reliable Wi-Fi, and the common areas are well-maintained and cleaned frequently. The fire alarms do occasionally go off, but this is usually due to students' cooking. The maintenance team may enter student rooms if necessary, but Cross Court always notifies students in advanced explaining when and why. To my knowledge, there have been no incidents of theft from the maintenance team. The laundry room is in good condition, and all the machines are currently working well. Overall, my experience at Cross Court has been very positive. The numerous common rooms create a great space to socialize and make friends. It also has an incredible location with only a 10-minute walk to Urdang and to Angel Station.

Romano Court is also a great option for student accommodation. It is in a great area, just a few minutes from Farringdon Station. My friends who live there really enjoy the setup, as having fewer people in each flat provides a stronger sense of community. The receptionists are also very kind and accommodating.

Arbour House is another good option. It is quite modern and in a great area as it is the closest to Urdang and the University. The downside is it is a bit longer of a walk to get to the tube stations. Arbour has the least "student accommodation" feel to it as it has no common rooms, so it is mainly just a living space.

Overall, after discussing with my friends living at the other accommodations, they had very positive feedback to their experience there. It is totally up to personal preference as to which one you decide to choose, or if you prefer another accommodation. However, I really recommend living in one of these student halls for first year as they like to keep Urdang students together, so it is a great way to make friends.I hope I was able to help!

Best,
Jenna

My daughter is going to Urdang and she has signed her contact with Chester House for this year. It’s cheaper and it’s catered halls but it is a 40-50 min commute on the bus. Weighing it all up she opted for Chester House as 2 of her friends stayed there for Urdang & loved it
