As far as I know, Jansport is known for having tough backpacks that are suitable to going through tough terrains.
However, I very much doubt you need something that sturdy for just school or college. A standard backpack can last you 3-4 years (and if you really stretch it, 10-15 years).
For me, I wouldn't pay £56.59 for one. I can't justify the cost for something that I don't use that often or in more difficult situations. Even if I were to get a backpack that would last me well into my adult life when I could possibly use it to go traveling with excessive clothes, laptops, etc. I still wouldn't be willing to pay more than £30 for it. That's just me though.
If I were to pay anything more than £30 for it, I would definitely need to see the backpack has a lot of very very essential and convenient features e.g. a lot of carefully designed (hidden and unhidden) pockets, waterproof features, useful straps, several compartments, very strong material, incredibly roomy, etc. For a standard backpack that's nothing special, I wouldn't really want to pay more than £20 and I expect to pay something closer to £10-£15.
Amazon is not always the cheapest place to get stuff. If you do a google search, you can sometimes find the same product cheaper elsewhere (especially if it's a product that costs £40+). For example with backpacks, I can sometimes find cheaper versions of the product (brand new) off eBay. There are other sites though.
