They are legit, yes. An Access to HE Diploma from Learndirect (or elsewhere) is accepted for entry to many universities to study many degree courses.
Did you have any particular universities and/or degree courses in mind?

I had university of Salford in mind , pretty much any university in manchester that does social work bsc

OK. Well this page on the Salford web site for BSc (Hons) Social Work specifically says they accept an Access to HE Diploma as meeting their entry requirements, as long as you gain at least 120 UCAS Tariff points.
