UEA vs Northumbria for MSc Business Analytics – Need Advice!

Hey everyone,

I’ve received offers for:
MSc Business Analytics and Management University of East Anglia (UEA)
MSc Business Analytics Northumbria University (Newcastle)

I know that UEA has a better ranking and reputation, but my main concern is which one is better for Business Analytics specifically. I prefer practical learning over theory or research, so I’d love to hear from current students or alumni about the course structure, teaching style, and industry connections.

Also, how easy is it to find part-time jobs in Norwich vs. Newcastle?

If anyone studying this course at either university can share their experience, it would really help me make the right decision.

Hi @pringlessss and @wowzielama

I am a current postgrad at UEA doing economics, but I wanted to highlight we have Unibuddy students on Business Management courses you can reach out and talk to for insight.

I found it really easy to get part-time work in Norwich. It's full of restaurants and cafes if you want to go into hospitality (my friend has just got a job at Bella Italia), or you can work on campus as a student ambassador or at one of the shops or cafes. The good thing about working for the uni is you can pick and choose your hours, but of course these are not guaranteed. UEA also has good bus links to the uni and city so you'll be able to get to and from work.

Please do feel free to reach out to the unibuddy students for insights on the course, or get back to me and I'll try and source some lecturers/current students if you'd like. In the meantime, let me know if you have any other questions about UEA or Norwich!
