Transferring within Department at Imperial College

Hello,
I received an offer from Imperial College to study the MSc in Artificial Intelligence. However, in my undergrad, I have taken 2 introductory CS courses (Intro to CS + Data Structures and Algorithms), 2 advanced STAT courses where we heavily used Python, 2 econometrics courses where we also heavily used Python, 1 Numerical Computing courses where we also used MATLAB, and I was wondering if Imperial would accept me transferring WITHIN the department to an MSc in Computing (Machine learning and AI) or even an MSc in Advanced Computing. The main reason I didn’t apply to those initially was because I wasn’t confident that I had a substantial computing background but my professor convinced me otherwise.

Has anyone ever transferred within a department? Should be easier, I assume, but I wonder what’s the chance it gets rejected.

You'd be best asking Imperial directly.

@Admit-One I don't suppose you have any advice on this, given it's postgrad?
The process is pretty similar for both postgrad and undergraduate tbh.

No one can really say how likely it is, but if you are certain that you want to swap, just ask now. Always better to know as soon as possible, rather than waiting until you’re enrolled.

I asked and they said that I can wait until I enrol to transfer, but that transferring wouldn't be guaranteed.

In that case it’s a big risk unless you’d be happy completing the initial course.
