One parent lives abroad

My application is asking this question:
Since 1 September 2022 has either your: parents, step-parents or guardians, husband, wife or civil partner, lived or worked outside the UK and Islands or, in the case of an EU, EEA or Swiss national outside the EEA or Switzerland?

I live with my father who supports me financially. My mother moved abroad in 2021 and as far I as I know she does not work and she does not support me financially - Only my father supports me. My mother has no intention of returning to the UK.

How do I answer the above question?

I don't work for SFE, so you'll get a more authoritative response when they're in the office from Monday.

However, I'd point out that the question asks whether, "Since 1 September 2022..." either of your parents "lived or worked outside the UK". It would seem obvious that your mother has, given that she moved abroad in 2021.

Hi Tiger737,

You would say yes in that section if your mother was living outside of the UK in 2022. If your parents are divorced or no longer married/separated, then your father would need to indicate this on his supporting section of the application.

Thanks for the reply. My mum left in 2021 but will not return. However, I have to put down a date of when she returned despite her still being abroad. Do I put the date I filled the form in or something else? Thanks.
