Westminster School entrance exam

Hello!
This is my first ever post here. I am planning on taking the entrance exam at Westminister for sixth form. Math, further math, economics, and English literature. I currently live in Sweden and go to an international English school but, I just don't know what to study in either maths or English literature except reading classics.

Hey, welcome! It’s awesome that you’re planning to take the entrance exam at Westminster that’s a big step! You’re definitely on the right track thinking about what to focus on.
For maths and further maths, both subjects require a solid understanding of concepts and problem-solving skills. You’ll want to make sure you have a strong grasp of algebra, calculus, and statistics for Maths, and for Further Maths, focus on more advanced topics like matrices, complex numbers, and differential equations. I’d recommend going through past papers and making sure you’re familiar with the types of questions they ask in the exam. There are lots of resources online (like Khan Academy or exam-specific prep books) that break down these topics clearly.
For English Literature, I totally get that it might feel like it’s all about reading the classics. However, what’s really important is being able to analyse and critically evaluate those texts. You might want to dive deeper into the themes, characters, and historical context of the novels you read. For example, if you're reading something like Pride and Prejudice, consider how social class and gender roles play a part in the story. Also, pay attention to literary devices, symbolism, and the author’s intentions. I’d recommend practicing writing essays that analyse these elements and maybe discussing your ideas with others to get different perspectives.
For both subjects, practice is key! Also, don't hesitate to reach out to your school teachers or online forums to ask about the specific areas that you might want to focus on for the Westminster exam.
Good luck with your prep! I’m sure you’ll do great!

Thank you so much for your help! I really appreciate it. I’ll make sure to analyze more literature and practice with prep exams to strengthen my skills.

For Further Maths, which prep exams would you recommend?
