Will a Masters at a better uni increase my employability?

Hi, I know this might be a dumb question, however, I was planning on doing accounting and finance at University Of York, I'm aware that compared to other russel group universities its somewhere in the middle, I really wanted to go to Durham but I did a late uni application and they are no longer accepting students from the UK to do their accounting and finance course, I was wondering if I did my masters at Durham in Finance, will I still receive the same benefits as someone who did their undergraduate course at Durham and will this also Increase my employability in the future, considering Durham is quite a desired uni.

What sort of job do you want to do?
Have you spoken to employers about whether they would prioritise Durham graduates over York?

Hi!

I think all Russell Group unis look good for employers, as they all provide a thorough degree programme with lots of transferable skills and experience. I think the most important thing is which course you prefer! At York, we have York for Life, which is our lifelong careers support and network of alumni mentors - this is super useful for getting guidance from the York community throughout your career!

Probably not, it might make it worse in some ways as you'll be overqualified for a lot of jobs.
