Clearing

So I know this is gonna sound ridiculous but I’m still seriously scared of moving away from home for uni. If I got there, did my course for a year and decided I hated it and wanted to come home to apply to a uni that’s closer to me, could I do that through clearing? How does that work like I’ve read up about it but all the circumstances are different. Like I’m guessing I’d have to drop out of the uni I would “currently” be going to. I’m not sure the whole clearing thing just confuses me. I’m hoping to have the best time away from home but it’s just in the back of my mind incase my mental gets really low

Just be aware that you cannot apply for 2nd year entry in Clearing - it isfor1st year entry only.. so that would mean you would be starting your degree again from term 1.

If you are nervous about leaving home, just remember that you don't have to go this year. You could defer your offers now to 2026 entry, or some Unis will allow you to even make that decision on Results Day. This would gve you an extra year to get a job (any job) and maybe do some travel etc to start getting more confident about living away from family.
