University of Edinburgh Offers Holders Day

Hi!
I was just wondering is anyone else going to the Edinburgh offers holders day on the 23rd of April, same as me? I have gotten an unconditional for English and Philosophy and was wondering if there was anyone doing the same course as me or similar courses?
Thank you

At the open day they did a taster session on Philosophy of time travel and teleportation! It seemed so interesting! I chose to do English and philosophy because philosophy has always interested me, and I chose English also because I’ve done English all throughout school, and I recently did Advanced Higher English in my 6th year and it was so interesting and really inspired me to do it at uni! What about you, what made you choose theology?

Philosophy of time travel and teleportation??? Never knew they offered that, sounds super interesting!
I hope the joint honours course goes well for you 👊
I picked theology mainly cuz I feel religion is such a big part of society. I mainly look into whether the claims of religions (mostly Christianity) are true. But also the history and 'lore' withing religions I find fascinating.
Combining it with philosophy makes it more interesting, looking at religions from a philosophical angle opens debate even further which I enjoy a lot.

Wow! That sounds so cool! At secondary school we did a topic on the Big Bang theory and the philosophical and Christian responses to it. It was super interesting! I hope you are able to change to theology and philosophy because that seems super interesting!

I’m just doing English literature, however I’m hoping that if I choose psychology as an elective for first and second year I can make it a joint degree ☺️

My school never offered philosophy as a subject but when I did it at the summer school I didn’t like it as it was very long discussions that seemed to never end and never had an answer

Yeah the closest thing I’ve done to philosophy is higher RMPS which I quite liked, I’ll have to wait and see if I like the subject at uni level but if I don’t I can always just hopefully switch to only English lit!
