They are very good predicted grades, same as my son's 3 A* in Maths/History/Economics, A* in EPQ but not taken into account with LSE or UCL. Your son has great GCSEs such a shame he was ill! My son's are 99988887776. He has also applied to UCL and not heard anything back yet. Good luck to both of them . Did LSE give the reason for the rejection?

Hi,
The rejection of lse was GCSE. Some students apparently got hight In there gcse. Ppe is very competitive, I did a lot of search. My son didn't apply for Oxford because The program emphasizes in-depth study of social and political ideas and history, alongside specialist training in economics, philosophy, and politics. While UCL's PPE program emphasizes policy and methods, with a distinct focus on social data science through the Social Data Science (Q-step) stream. So he applied for UCL and LSE.
UCL , LSE , OXFORD, EDINBURGH they are all top universities, so let's see

With all your son's 8s at GCSE I'm surprised he was rejected, it seems they want all 9s which isn't looking good for my son! You have done lots of research on the different Unis, well done I've been a bit lazy there and left my son to do that. Does your son have any other offers yet? Mine has only had 1 so far and that's for Bath

So sorry to hear that. Did he apply for PPE or a joint honours of politics + economics.
His gcse and alevel stats are great and I know of lse letting people in with the same or lower, so it could be because of personal statement they put a lot of weight on that in the process since they don't interview.
Hoping he gets into UCL.

Hii
Lse sent an email stating that this year so many students applied for PPE that never happened before. So it was so competitive. They didn't mention about the personal statement only GCSE. he didn't hear anything from UCL yet. So apparently UCL, LSE, and Oxford are the same level so it's very competitive. He got an offer from Exeter university couple of months ago. Hopefully he will get UCL. He only applied for Ppe

Home ! I think it’s a good sign though if you haven’t heard back as I think they start off with rejections and then accept people from what I’ve heard from other people!

I'm really sorry to hear that! If I remember rightly Edinburgh was one of your son's top 2? Yesterday was a bad day for rejections! ☹️ We're still waiting for UCL and Warwick and getting increasingly worried as UCL is my sons top choice
