Medicine with advanced higher grades

Hello!

This is kind of a tricky situation, due to family problems I was unable to do well in my highers and only achieved ABBCC (both my B grades were only a mark away from A grades, however appeals did not change) I also have 7 A’s from n5.

This year I am doing advanced higher biology, chemistry and maths. I was wondering if it would be possible for me to take a gap year and apply to medicine with advanced higher grades, my question really is what grades would I have to achieve this year and if this has been done before

Any suggestions or advice would be much appreciated!!

Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. All Scottish uni's ask for 5 A's at higher (some ask for 4As and a B) at first sitting so your grades are not applicable to the undergraduate course.
However, there are other routes, such as gateway to medicine (you need to be eligible for this so check) or graduate entry medicine, where you do a biology related degree and then reapply to medicine, where they don't care about highers or advanced highers.
Many people take these routes so it is nothing out of the ordinary, but your higher grades are too low for undergraduate medicine.
Best of luck!
