A levels for 19 years old

I’m currently doing A levels Economics, Statistics and Politics. After 6 months of studying these subjects and I realised that I want to change my comination of Alevels.Because it doesn’t link to my future career as I want to pursue a medical degree. My sixth form college are not allowed me to retake a levels cause I’ll be turn 19,5 from September. I think that college might make me an exception because I’m already their student but the core of problem is my age. The sixth form college is a type of educational place where students 16-18/19 which are only based on allocative funding. So how can I appeal the sixth form college decision then I’d be alowed to restart ?How can I find out a kinda right that would be allowed me to restart . any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Is there any way you could do medicine with a foundation year? Not sure exactly how it works and if this would work with your subject combination.
I guess you could also study alevels at home/with private tutors and do them as a private student but I can imagine this is very difficult.
Maybe other colleges around you?

If you go to a different college that does A levels, they’ll usually let you do your a levels again for free as long as it’s your first try plus there will be older people there too. Or you could sit your a levels this year and go to another college and do intensive a levels

Thanks for your answer. Unfortunately, medicine requires a level biology and chemistry as well. I live in a small city so the sixth form college only provides a leevls. I don’t know what to do with this situation to be fair

I live in a small city so only this sixth form college provides a levels. But they are allocated funding so you might be under 19 to be enrolled in the sixth form college but I’m already 19. I thought that my college might make an exception because I’m already their student but they said no. I’ve talked a lot of people about my situation in the college. Hoping that someone helps me and could influence on principles to change their mind .But I don’t know how council could influence on college to provide me an opportunity to do a levels ? Or any other organisation to provide me an option to do a levels in the college ? Because it’s incredibly difficult to do a levels in your own

I’ve applied for med this year so am aware for the normal entry requirements however I think there are some courses (Manchester 6yr for example) that allow you to do a foundation year if you have taken the wrong alevels for medicine.

Depending on your financial situation you could complete your alevels this year and then retry for bio/chem as a private applicant using programs like uplearn at home.

Or

You could try and get into some sort of applied health degree eg. Nursing/paramedic science/midwifery/physiotherapy/radiography/occupation health and then do grad entry medicine. With your current alevels I’m unsure if you are able to do this however if you were able to do some sort of t level/btech then I’m sure you could?

Ive attached a link which may be helpful to read as there are definitely options available for people who have taken non science subjects- I would look into this and focus on getting the best grades you can this year to keep your options open
