Getting an Extra year from SFE

I'm asking to see if anyone would know whether I would be able to get an extra year of funding for my new course at Sheffield since I left my previous university in December due to my uncle dying and being assaulted on 2 different occasions.

Hi there,

If you have Compelling Personal Reasons you may be eligible to get another year of funding. You would need to upload a cover letter explaining why you were unable to continue you with your studies and when it took place. The cover letter should also include your full name, customer reference number and it should be signed & dated. We would also need to see a copy of the death certificate.

Thanks, Drew

I have a crime reference number for one of the assaultes and evidence of my ucles funeral. My mum won't let me have access to the death certificate. I also have a cover letter and 2 support letters from Nottingham as well.

Hi there,

We can accept a letter from your university on their headed paper confirming why you could not continue with your studies and when it took place. It would also need to be signed & dated.

Thanks, Drew

Hi, how do I provide the evidence required for the extra year as it's not giving me any option online

Hi there, You can upload it from your online account. When you log into your online account click on the current academic year. When this pages loads up on the right hand side you should see an expand button. If you click on this it should give you a drop down menu and you should see an upload of evidence option here. You can use the link below as it will show you what to do. Thanks, Drew

The link says video unavailable. What would be the address if I was to send the evidence by Mail instead

Ok, thank you. Is it best that I apply for the loan today and then send the evidence off as soon as I can

Hi there,

Yes you can apply today on your online account and once you apply this may open up the option to upload your evidence.

Thanks, Drew

I've now applied, as it wouldn't give me the option to upload the evidence for the extra year I'm going to send the evidence by post as soon as I can
