Ljmu accommodation - En-suite and Lively

I’m studying Criminology and Psychology at John Moores and I’m wondering about what the accommodation is like.

My course is split across both City and Mount Pleasant Campus so I’m open location wise.

I know that I definitely want an en suite and I want to be in a lively accommodation that’s great for parties.

At the minute I’’ve looked at Horizon, St Luke’s and Grand Central but have seen mixed reviews about Grand Central so wanted to know a bit more about this.

I’m open to looking at other ones that I’ve not looked at so if anyone has any advice I’d appreciate it

Hi @EllaGK

It sounds like Grand Central and Horizon Heights would perhaps suit you best, certainly for parties. St Luke's View is also a little further from the City Campus, so I would say the others are maybe the better options.

Horizon Heights:
Pros:
-very nice accommodation
-only a few years old
-gorgeous common rooms
Cons:
-small rooms
-common rooms don't tend to be used a lot
-hard to get in and need to book fast

Grand Central
Pros:
-very social
-quite big so more likely to live with people on a similar course
-can pick your room type (bronze, silver or gold)
-has it's own gym (only small though)
Cons:
-older, slightly more worn down
-bronze rooms only have single beds
-not as fancy as Horizon Heights

I hope that helps 🙂

That’s really helped thank you. Do you know how many rooms in a Grand Central flat have premium en suite rooms? Because I don’t want to be the only one in a flat with a premium room.

Flats offered to new LJMU students will have 4 or 5 bedrooms, so the number of premium en-suite rooms in each flat may vary. I’d recommend reaching out to the accommodation provider directly, Unite Students, to confirm: https://www.unitestudents.com/contact-us

Hiya, I'm actually going to be doing forensic psychology and criminal justice so I'd be on Mount Pleasant campus. I've done a lot of research into the accommodation (but only for MP sorry!) and the easy winner for me is Hardman House. It's right next to the library and the main campus so I wouldn't have to worry about getting home when its a bit later and on the party front it's in between 2 great student pubs. I really want somewhere lively but I also know that when I'm home I want to chill out a bit which is half the reason why I wanted an accommodation with less flats to a cluster so for me I think Hardman's the perfect option. Obviously its up to personal preference and for somewhere more lively I think Grand Central is pretty good, maybe look at Copperas as well? Hope this helped

I'm looking for someone to take over my Premium Range 2 Studio in Horizon Heights. £275 per week. Great views in the best accommodation for students looking for more privacy. Message me for more details. First week already paid.
